Provincial Nominee Alberta

Alberta is the westernmost of Canada’s three Prairie Provinces, bordered by Saskatchewan to the east, British Columbia to the west, the Northwest Territories to the north and the American state of Montana to the south. Alberta’s population of 4,300,000 is concentrated mostly in the capital city of Edmonton and the city of Calgary.

STUDENT

Alberta’s universities and colleges have a wide range of programs for students. Applicants can work part-time during their studies and may be eligible for work permits for three years after graduation, depending on their program of studies.

SPONSORSHIP

Canadian citizens or permanent residents at least 18 years of age can be eligible to sponsor their spouses, common-law partners, dependent or adopted children, or parents and grandparents to become permanent residents and live and work in Canada.

PROVINCIAL NOMINEE

The Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) offers qualified skilled workers, professionals and managers intending to settle in Alberta the opportunity contribute their education, skills, training and experience to the province by applying to be nominated by Alberta to apply for permanent residency in Canada.

ENTREPRENEUR

Experienced farmers planning to live in Alberta and invest at least CAN $500,000 to operate a farm in Alberta may be eligible under the Self-Employed Farmer Sub-stream of the AINP to be nominated to apply for permanent residency in Canada.
