Provincial Nominee Prince Edward Island
Prince Edward Island is Canada’s smallest island in population (approx. 155,000) and in area (5,660 square kilometres) and lies in the Gulf of St. Lawrence on the East Coast of Canada across the Northumberland Strait from Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. It is connected to the mainland by the 14-kilometre-long Confederation Bridge, which opened in 1997. Prince Edward Island is accepting immigrants with the following applications:
STUDENT
Prince Edward Island’s universities and colleges have a wide range of programs for students. Applicants can work part-time during their studies and may be eligible for work permits for three years after graduation, depending on their program of studies. They are eligible to apply for permanent residency.
SPONSORSHIP
Canadian citizens or permanent residents at least 18 years of age can be eligible to sponsor their spouses, common-law partners, dependent or adopted children younger up to the age of 22, or parents and grandparents to become permanent residents and live and work in Canada.
PROVINCIAL NOMINEE
The Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEIPINP) offers qualified skilled workers, professionals and managers intending to settle in Prince Edward Island the opportunity contribute their education, skills, training and experience to the province and to be nominated by Prince Edward Island to apply for permanent residency in Canada.
The PEIPNP offers the following streams under the Labour Impact Category:
1- PEI PNP Express Entry Stream: Applicants with valid Express Entry profiles targeted by Prince Edward Island to meet skilled labour needs.
2- Skilled Workers in PEI Stream: Applicants aged 21 to 59 with a full-time, long-term job offer from a PEI employer, a valid Canadian work permit and at least two years of work experience.
3- Skilled Workers Outside Canada Stream: Applicants aged 21 to 59 with a full-time, long-term job offer from a PEI employer and at least two years of work experience.
4- Critical Worker Stream: Applicants aged 21 to 59 who have worked at least 6 months with a full-time employer in PEI who has offered them a full-time job offer in specified critical positions.
5- International Graduate Stream: Applicants aged 21 to 59 on a valid post-graduate work permit and who have worked at least 6 months with a full-time employer in PEI who has offered them a full-time job offer.
ATLANTIC IMMIGRATION PILOT
The Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIP) offers qualified applicants with job offers from employers in the Atlantic provinces who have been unable to find local candidates the opportunity to settle and apply for permanent residency. The AIP offers three programs:
1- Atlantic High-Skilled Program: Applicants with a full-time job offer from a designated employer in Prince Edward Island and at least one year of skilled work experience.
2- Atlantic Intermediate Skilled Program: Applicants with a full-time job offer from and a designated employer in Prince Edward Island and at one year of skilled or semi-skilled work experience.
3- Atlantic International Graduate Program: Applicants who have graduated from at least a two-year diploma program at a publicly-funded university or college in Atlantic Canada and have a full-time job offer from a designated employer in Prince Edward Island.
ENTREPRENEUR
The Business Impact Category of the PEIPNP provides opportunities to entrepreneurs, managers and business owners willing to come to Prince Edward Island to invest in the province under the following stream:
1- Work Permit Stream: Qualified entrepreneurs with a minimum CAN $600,000 net worth intending to invest a minimum of CAN $150,000 in a new or existing business in Prince Edward Island.
2- Partial Ownership Stream (terminated): Qualified entrepreneurs between 21 and 59 years of age with a minimum CAN $600,000 net worth intending to invest a minimum of CAN $150,000 for at least 1/3 ownership in a new or existing business in Prince Edward Island.
3- 100% Ownership Stream (terminated): Qualified entrepreneurs between 21 and 59 years of age with a minimum CAN $600,000 net worth intending to invest a minimum of CAN $150,000 to obtain 100% ownership of a new or existing business in Prince Edward Island.
